National Instruments announced NI DIAdem 2010, the latest version of the data management software that helps engineers and scientists better manage, analyze and report on data collected during data acquisition or generated through simulations. The new version of DIAdem features GPS synchronization, sound data playback and increased offline analysis and reporting capabilities. This combination of features gives engineers and scientists the opportunity to increase the return on their data investment by reducing the time it takes to make decisions from data collected in applications such as automotive, aviation and structural and environmental monitoring.

WAGO's updated 758 Series IPCs pair CoDeSys V2 software, Linux OS, IEC programming languages and multiple onboard fieldbus protocols for real-time control applications. A PC and PLC hybrid, the 758 Series IPCs offer a robust, scalable solution and network connectivity. The IPCs include traditional PC interfaces like compact flash, USB, RS-232 and DVI ports. Independent Ethernet ports provide fieldbus connectivity; the IPCs also support PROFIBUS and CANopen protocols. Direct connection to the 400+ specialty, analog and digital modules in the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM is also possible.

National Instruments announced the addition of Windows OS support and Camera Link connectivity for NI Embedded Vision Systems, providing manufacturing engineers and system integrators three new options to develop high-performance machine vision solutions. Two of the new options featuring Windows support, the NI EVS-1463 and EVS-1464 systems, offer 80 GB storage and are suitable for image and data logging. They are based on the Windows 7 OS, making it possible to develop directly on the deployment system while eliminating the need for a separate PC for the operator interface. The EVS-1463 and NI EVS-1463RT introduce a Camera Link connectivity option for high-bandwidth, low-latency and line-scan imaging applications. These new systems expand the NI Embedded Vision System family, which also includes the NI EVS-1464RT with GigE Vision and IEEE 1394b camera connectivity.

Honeywell enhanced its 900 Control Station touch screen operator interface, part of the HC900 Control System, used in industrial facilities to control standalone processes and SCADA applications. The 900 Control Station includes features that allow engineers to more quickly configure the system and operators to monitor their processes more efficiently and reduce data entry error.

Software Toolbox released TOP Server Version 5.3, its OPC and native HMI device connectivity software application. Top Server 5.3 delivers enhancements to more than 30 drivers and plug-ins.

ABB released LoopSCAN, a new Advanced Remote Service. ABB’s deployment of LoopSCAN dramatically improves visualization to allow more end users to work with this powerful data collection and software algorithm. The performance of each control loop is evaluated based on responses related to: control, process, signal conditioning and tuning. Each loop that gets a poor rating is counted as having an issue that needs further investigation.
